The Tastiest (and Healthiest) Dessert Yet!

With the weather heating up and the stress of finals on our hands, what could be better than guilt-free, delicious, healthy, frozen snacks. The best part is you can easily make them yourself—all you need is a freezer and some fresh seasonal fruit.
That’s right! You’d be amazed at how delicious frozen fruit is! It makes for an awesome snack when you’re up late cramming, or munching in front of the T.V. It also makes for awesome (and colorful) mid-summer party platters or for a slumber party with the girls.

While not all fruits will work, most of the softer ones—once slightly thawed out— with have an awesome popsicle texture. Berries, (especially strawberries and blueberries), grapes, oranges, kiwi and banana are all great options. Just make sure to prepare them into bite-size pieces or slices before freezing so they’re ready to eat later!
You can pick up bags of sliced mango and other frozen fruits in the frozen food aisles—and snack on them straight-from the bag— but here are some fun easy ways to turn healthy foods into decadent treats!
Low-Fat Vanilla Yogurt: Scoop a cup or so of yogurt into a small Styrofoam cup and put it in the freezer. An hour or so later, you’ll have an awesome ice cream substitute that pairs perfectly with the frozen fruit (especially the grapes and berries!).
Melted Chocolate: Once your fruit is sliced and diced, (best with bananas, strawberries and oranges) dip them partially in semi-sweet melted chocolate before freezing for a sweet chocolaty indulgence.
Bananas: Peel the banana, cut it in half and insert a popsicle stick through the middle! Frozen bananas are favorites because of their unique ice cream texture—and if you’re feeling super adventurous, you can spread some peanut butter on them right before eating!
With your favorite Cocktails: Serve up a platter of frozen fruits when drinking cocktails with your girlfriends. It’s a great alternative for chips and dip, and you can even slip a few into the drinks for a pretty splash of color.
